Fish is very delicious but also very healthy. When it is prepared correctly, it can be a healthy meal for your whole family. Instead of eating out, make this meal with your family.

Choosing your fish is one of the most fun parts of this recipe. Dominic Milner suggests you use an 8 ounce smoke salmon. Visit your local supermarket when they are having a fresh fish sale. Salmon is actually an inexpensive type of fish, but it depends on where you purchase it. Of course, if you can buy your fish fresh, then make sure to do so. If you are lucky, then you will find your fish already cleaned; however, sometimes you are responsible for cleaning the salmon yourself. You want to make sure the head, scales and fins are removed. Make sure the fish is also cleaned thoroughly before you begin consumption. Although cleaning a fish is not fun, the smoked part will make up for it. If you love fishing, then perhaps you would enjoy fishing for your own salmon; however, most people prefer to purchase it at the store.

Adding the perfect ingredients to your Classic Smoked Salmon will create an amazing entrée. The secret to this entrée is following the exact recipe listed below. The herbed cream cheese is a bonus feature offered in this recipe. It’s something that you never want to leave out of your smoked salmon recipe again. Finally, a recipe your whole family can make together, crave together and cook together.

Fresh Dill Sprigs

Herbed Cream Cheese

2 Tablespoons Milk

1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice

1 Teaspoon Dill Weed

5 Drops Tabasco

Method:

Cooking the Herbed Cream Cheese:

  1. Add the ingredients (smooth cream cheese, milk, lemon juice and dill weed, and 4 drops bottled hot pepper sauce or to taste if you like the fish hot) together in a medium mixing bowl.

  2. Beat together until smooth.

Cooking the Smoked Salmon

Before you begin cooking any type of seafood, make sure to wash your hands and the tools you will be using. Also, the seafood must be in good condition and not expired. Always smell seafood or fish to see if it has gone sour.

Clean the salmon accordingly.

Fillet the salmon as necessary.

Place salmon inside of aluminium foil, then place face down on the grill.

Smoke the salmon on the grill or stove top.

Allow the salmon to cook for the necessary time. Check the cooking progress by cutting a small incision into the fish to see if it is cooked thoroughly.

Arrange the smoked salmon and a small bowl of the Herbed Cream Cheese and bread on medium-sized serving platter.

Garnish with red onion, capers, lemon slices and dill.
